Finished Garments

1. Droplet hat from Knitting Nature:
Started:
Finished:
Yarn: Manos cotton
Where I knit: home
How it makes me feel: boheme. She draws a lot of comments and when I want to feel uber-cool I just tilt her at a rakish angle.
Final thoughts:

2. Red Light Thigh Highs:
Started: December 26, 2007
Completed: February 2, 2007
Yarn: Cascade Fixation
Where I knit: the plane coming home from Christmas, the subway & a few stolen hours on the job — these would not have been two month stockings but for the fact that I was working on other things at home.
How they make me feel: Hot. Yes, toasty and sexy.
Final thoughts: I like that, when stretched to the laciest degree, Cascade Fixation loses a considerable amount of bump and allows for a smooth finish.

3. Norwegian Stockings from Folk Socks:
Started:
Finished:
Where I knit: home, work and subway (these drew a lot of attention)
How they make me feel: twee and brilliant. They’re kind of like girly athletic socks. They also conveniently solve the freezing vegan wintertime dilemma. I should have known the solution was fair isle.
Final thoughts: Note to self. Trust this book’s needle size recommendations. They are just slightly snug. Due to the stockingette sections of the Red Light Thigh Highs, I thought I should use smaller DPN’s. I was wrong. Not horribly wrong. Just it-takes-me-a-little-longer-to-get-these-socks-on-in-the-morning-than-it-should wrong.
